Terms and Conditions for CardUp's Referral Program

Eligibility to participate

  1. Existing CardUp users, with at least 1 transaction successfully completed, (“Referrers”) who introduce new users (“Referees”) to CardUp via https://cardup.my, in accordance with the following Terms and Conditions, are eligible to participate in the CardUp Referral Program ("Promotion") till 30 June 2024 (both dates inclusive).

  2. The offer of RM600 or RM90 off the CardUp fee may be referred to as “CardUp credits” in these terms and other communication.

  3. A successful referral (“Successful Referral”) is one where:

    (a) the Referee has signed up and created a Personal account (“Personal User”) or Business account (“Business User”) on CardUp. 

    (b) the email address used by the Referee when creating a CardUp account is a valid email address belonging to a unique individual

    (c) if the Referee is a Business User, the Business User is an authorised person signing up for the Business account on behalf of an active company. A Company Registration number must be provided when setting up a Business account. CardUp reserves the right to reject a payment set up by a Business User using the Invite Promo Code if the Business account is not held on behalf of an active local company.

    (d) the Referee’s first payment is completed using the Referrer’s Invite Promo Code. A payment is deemed as completed when the payment on the Referee’s dashboard shows with status as “Complete”.

  4. CardUp reserves the right to impose a limit of one CardUp account per mobile number.

  5. The Invite Promo Code can only be used by new Referees who do not have an existing CardUp account, on the Referee’s first payment made with a credit card that has never been used on CardUp before.

  6. The Invite Promo Code is not applicable for use on any additional fees incurred for Next Day payments.

  7. Use of the Invite Promo Code is limited to the first 20 Referees per Referrer who successfully apply the Invite Promo Code, regardless if the Referee is a Personal User or Business User. Once this number of redemptions is exceeded, any new Referees who try to use the promo code will be informed it is no longer valid.

  8. A Referrer will receive a maximum of 20 Referral Success Promo Codes. 

  9. Both the Invite Promo Code and the Referral Success Promo Codes are valid on payments with no minimum amount required.

Terms of use for Referees

  1. Only one Invite Promo Code can be used per payment and an Invite Promo Code can only be used once per Referee. This allows Referees to redeem up to a maximum of RM600 off the CardUp fee on their first payment.

  2.  When a Referee sets up the first payment, the prevailing 2.25% fee will apply and if the Invite Promo Code is used, 

    (a) RM90 CardUp credit will be deducted from the CardUp fee displayed if the Referee making the payment is a Personal User, or

    (b) RM600 CardUp credit will be deducted from the CardUp fee displayed if the Referee making the payment is a Business User.

  3. To get RM600 off the CardUp fee on the first payment, the Invite Promo Code can only be used by a Business User on or before 30 June 2024.

    (a) RM600 CardUp credit will be deducted from the total CardUp fee that is displayed at the time of making a payment and the prevailing 2.25% fee for domestic cards and 3.3% for international cards will apply to the rest of the payment should amount exceeded.  Any unused portion of the RM600 CardUp credit will not be refunded or carried over to the next payment.

  4. To get RM90 off the CardUp fee on the first payment, the Invite Promo Code can only be used by a Personal User on or before 30 June 2024.

    (a) RM90 CardUp credit will be deducted from the total CardUp fee that is displayed at the time of making a payment and the prevailing 2.25% fee for domestic cards and 3.3% for international card will apply to the rest of the payment should amount exceeded. Any unused portion of the RM90 CardUp credit will not be refunded or carried over to the next payment.

Terms of use for Referrer

  1. Referrers will receive CardUp credit redeemable via a Referral Success Promo Code which will be sent by email to the Referrer upon each Successful Referral.

  2. Use of Referral Success Promo Codes expires 90 days from the date the email with the Promo Code is sent.

  3. When a Referrer sets up a payment, the prevailing 2.25% fee for domestic cards and 3.3% for international cards will apply and if the Referral Success Promo Code is used,

    (a) RM90 CardUp credit will be deducted from the CardUp fee displayed if the Referee making the payment is a Personal User, or

    (b) RM600 CardUp credit will be deducted from the CardUp fee displayed if the Referee making the payment is a Business User.

  4. Referrers may track the status of their Successful Referrals and use of the Referral Success Promo Code in the “View my referrals” section of their Account after logging into CardUp.

  5. Only one Referral Success Promo Code can be used per payment even though a Referrer may have qualified for multiple Referral Success Promo Codes by having many Successful Referrals. This allows Referrers to redeem up to a maximum of RM600 off the CardUp fee per payment if the Successful Referral was a Business User.

  6. If the Referral Success Promo Code is from a Successful Referral of a Business User, the RM600 CardUp credit will be applied in the following manner:

    (a) Any unused portion of the RM600 CardUp credit will not be refunded or carried over to the next payment.

    (b) The RM600 CardUp credit will be deducted from the CardUp fee that is displayed at the time of making a payment, and the prevailing 2.25% fee for domestic cards and 3.3% for international cards will apply for payment amount that exceeded.

  7. Referrers under the Corporate Referral Program (CRP) who refer the same Referee via CRP and Invite Promo Code, shall not be entitled to receive any incentives under the CRP for that referral.

  8. CardUp has the right to void the CardUp credits awarded in the event of a referrer-referee arrangement where both are using each other's referral code during their first payment.


Eligibility to utilise Promo Code "MYNEWFREE20":

  1. Users who have signed up for a CardUp Business account and have not yet scheduled any payment on CardUp (“Users”) are eligible to enjoy 0% CardUp fee on the first 2 business payments with a due date on or before 5 April 2022.("Offer").

  2. The Offer is only valid on the first RM20,000 scheduled within the first 2 payments of a recurring series. The prevailing 2.25% fee will be applied to the rest of the payment(s) should the amount exceed RM20,000.

  3. The payments must be scheduled on CardUp on or before 31 March 2022, at least 3 business days in advance of the due date to allow for processing time. 

  4. To enjoy the Offer, Users have to enter promo code MYNEWFREE20 during the “Schedule payment” process when setting up payment details. The discounted CardUp fee for the payment amount will be reflected before User confirms and submits payment. 

  5. The Offer can only be redeemed once at a company level. Companies with multiple Users may only redeem the Offer on the first payment set up on CardUp. 

  6. All payments are subject to be reviewed and additional documents may be requested to support the review.

  7. Promo Codes are not applicable for use on:
    (a) payments made with credit cards issued outside of Malaysia.
    (b)     any additional fees incurred for Next Day payments.
    (c) in conjunction with any other promotions, offers or discounts.

General Terms

  1. CardUp shall be entitled to withdraw or substitute the CardUp credit with items or rewards of similar value at its sole discretion without prior notice and without giving any reason for the same.

  2. CardUp reserves the right to terminate the Promotion, or to vary, delete or add to any of these Terms and Conditions from time to time at its absolute discretion (including without limitation the terms relating to the eligibility of any Participant and the dates of the Promotion).

  3. CardUp’s decision on all matters relating to this Promotion will be final, conclusive and binding on all Participants, and no correspondence shall be entertained. In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any brochure, marketing or promotional material relating to the Promotion, these Terms and Conditions will prevail.

  4. CardUp, its employees and campaign organisers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or any injury that may be sustained by the Participant or by any person in connection with the Promotion. Without limiting the foregoing, CardUp is not responsible for the loss of any Promotional Gift for which the Referrer is eligible.

  5. The Participant acknowledges and agrees that the collection, use, storage and disclosure of his/her personal data shall be governed by the terms of CardUp’s Privacy Policy. The Participant shall be responsible for obtaining, and warrants that it has obtained, the consent of the Referee(s) for the provision of the Referee(s) personal data to CardUp, and to the collection, use and storage of such personal data in accordance with CardUp’s Privacy Policy. CardUp may inform the Referee(s) that the Referee’s/Referees’ personal data is collected from the Participant.

  6. The Participant acknowledges and agrees that, in addition to the above-mentioned terms, they must abide by the requirements of CardUp’s general Terms of Service.

  7. "CardUp" refers to CardUp Malaysia SDN. BHD., a company registered in Malaysia.

  8. These Terms of Service, all matters relating to your use of our website at https://www.cardup.my and all matters relating to the use of the CardUp service shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Malaysia. By using the CardUp service you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Malaysia.
